Hypnotized.

Filed under: the dolls — jenny @ 4:06 pm

So I’ve finally fallen under the spell & pre-ordered one. Meet Vanity:

vanity_16.jpg

OK, she’s really not technically the first I’ve liked — but Midori was too expensive for me when she was available (tho I still like her a lot) — but she is the first I’ve bought. I’m so excited!! Mostly cuz she’s a repaint of Triad’s Theala head that rocks! (Whereas Theala was just the head & the outfit for $90, Vanity comes with a body/head/outfit for $60.)

Triad says that she’ll be shipped around the end-ish of November. She comes with everything in the pic & then some (extra hands & more guns). Sexy & lethal!

Gaaaaargh!

Y!JA does it again. I’ve been trying to stay away because everything I take a fancy to goes for insane cash. But, of course, I had to go look. To just take a peek. And here’s what I see:

papipooo-img600×500-1215497383×1nqqf1475-small.jpg

This time ’round it’s more than just the head — you get the entire outfit (including the glasses and shoes) & all the yummy lil accessories to set the complete mood. Too bad the auction’s well over $300.

I wish the winner all the best!!

Um… no. Just no.

Filed under: the dolls — jenny @ 1:15 am

OK, I just saw these on Junkyspot:

25bd-f01n.jpg 25bd-f02n.jpg

25bd-f03n.jpg 25bd-f03n-g.jpg

They’re some of Obitsu’s new 25cm female child bodies. Besides the fact that the torsos are proportionally too long for the overall figure (giving the appearance of being pregnant — at least to me :D), there are sooooo many things wrong here.

The boobs are squishy. Now, I don’t know about you, but I can’t see a reason for this. Beyond squishy, do you see the size of the boobage on these bodies?? All kinds of red warning flags are going off in my head. To me, this just screams “child pr0n” & all kinds of other inappropriate behaviors.

I realize that not all people are the same height, so there could be innocent & quite reasonable uses for this body — the younger 15-17 year old sister & all that. But I wouldn’t consider these to be a child, more like “young adult” or “teenager.” Obitsu needs to be a little more careful about how they classify their products.

Oh, grow up!

Filed under: the dolls — jenny @ 1:03 pm

I’ve been a member of DoA for almost 4 years now, but you’d never know looking at the number of times I’ve posted. And now I’m starting to regret it.

Usually I like looking thru the gallery and the marketplace. Some of the members have some incredible BJDs and take some awesome photos. But the behavior of some lately is turning me off. It started with a hypothetical debate that got too heated because some of the posters were simply looking for someone to attack. Now, with the incident at Dolpa, some of those same posters are coming out of the woodwork trying to stir up trouble.

I admit, I, too, thought some of the responses were silly or made me go “WHUT?” in their over-the-top-ness. But I refused to ridicule specific members for their inane postings because I was taught to treat others as I’d want to be treated. And basically, that’s what the mods are for — to steer members back on track to the reality of the situation.

But it’s obvious that not all who post at DoA were brought up the same way. Some of their responses are the reason so many hate BJDs/DoA/doll-hobbyists. Or the reason that groups like DoD exist.

If that’s how you get your kicks, picking fights or ridiculing others, go somewhere else. Seriously. Because I didn’t join Den to be subjected to immature brats; I’ve long ago moved on from kindergarten.

The Days I Recall Being Wonderful

Filed under: the mundane — jenny @ 2:58 pm

Would you trade me for more,
Of yourself when it’s silent.
Try not to give too much,
So you won’t grow tired.

I know you,
The good and the bad,
The days I recall being wonderful.
I lost you,
And I held it back,
Please tell me that everything will work out fine.

Pictures taken fast,
The proof that I know you.
In albums stuck to bleach,
But memories they’ll keep.

And I know you,
The good and the bad,
The days I recall being wonderful.
I lost you,
And I held it back,
Please tell me that everything will work out fine.

If this is the last dance,
Then may I have it.

Happy happy joy joy!

Filed under: Olie — jenny @ 2:15 pm

I’m so pleased with myself. Olie is finally accumulating a real wardrobe!

Yesterday her VJeans arrived in the mail (which is what prompted the photos yesterday — I know you can’t really see them in the pics here, but I have the others on Flickr); I finally found a pair of black boots I like & ordered them; she’s finally got appropriate underwear, even heart-themed for Valentine’s; and along with her other stuff, she’s pretty much set. There are still a few things I need, but they’re not imperative.

So…. all is right with the world! :D

The sun woke me up this morning, shining right through the blinds, warm on my face.

Too bad it’s nothing but a cruel joke.

Actual temp is around the -30 F mark. (On the plus side, yay for great sun for nice photos!)
