1/6th Scale / Dolls / Goodies / Randomness

*happy day*

Yesterday I went “cheap shopping” and just went overboard. I was supposed to hit Big Lots and Hobby Lobby and stay fairly under budget… well I blew it XD

Honor had tipped me off about these Pop Diva outfits. She was telling me they were so well made and fit nicely on the Volks dolls… and they were only $1.99 each. Well shoot, you can’t go wrong with that, so I went to Big Lots to pick some up. They turned out really nice. Honor was right, they are very nicely made for being so cheap. The fabric selection is nice, and the sewing is just like any other major doll brand of clothes. They even use micro velcro. $1.99 can get expensive if you buy a lot, but I think these were definitely worth it. Some of the outfits are a little big, like the one piece dress and the magenta top with fringe… but it’s nothing a little sewing or pinning can’t fix.

Also at Big Lots they had these Barbie Vespas for $7.99. I’ve always wanted to buy one, but just never got around to it. I’m thinking I should go buy another and repaint it… maybe sell it if I don’t like it. Hahahaha… no, I just shouldn’t do that. XD But a little sparkly candy red Vespa would be cute yea? Or maybe even kiwi green. Would be nice.

I went to Hobby Lobby to pick up some wood to make some doll furniture. Just out of habit, I went to look at the brushes. This is the Hobby Lobby in North Austin near Sherri’s house. My HL is crap and is half the size of the north HL. They had those cursed Eagle brushes, but on top of that, they had 30/0 Round detail brushes. They’re not the same as the ones I use, but who cares, they’re 30/0 and the tip is fine and I’m sure I can work with it better than a script liner (which was the other 30/0 they had). Still no mini-liner, but I’m adjusting without it. I bought all they had, 6 total. :3 *not sharing* The tip is a little more blunt than a mini-liner, but I’m sure when it’s wet, it’ll be fine. If they ever get more (which I highly doubt it), I’ll buy some more and send them out to friends.

I also ran to Home Depot and bought myself a small wood saw. All these tools just for my dolls. XD At this rate, I’ll have a whole toolbox that I bought one piece at a time. I am attempting to make a fairly modern looking bed. We’ll see how crappy it turns out…. Hehehehe.
